Teacher MLC election's Polling today in Telangana

Close to 24,000 electors will be voting in the MLC polls for the Mahabubnagar-Ranga Reddy-Hyderabad Teachers’ constituency in Telangana on Wednesday. A total of 12 candidates are in the fray for the seat.Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal, on Wednesday, announced the polling schedule for Telangana, and also Andhra Pradesh where MLC elections are being conducted for three Graduates and two Teachers constituencies. In AP, polling will be conducted for Srikakulam-Vizianagaram-Visakhapatnam, Prakasam-Nellore-Chittoor and Kadapa-Kurnool-Anantapur Graduates constituencies, and Prakasam-Nellore-Chittoor, and Kadapa-Kurnool-Anantapur Teachers Constituencies.
The voting will begin at 8 a.m. and continue up to 6 p.m., and whoever comes after the hours will not be allowed to vote. Mobile phones and cameras will not be allowed into the polling stations. Voters should carry their identity card, which may be EPIC, Aadhar, driving licence, passport, PAN Card, service identity card, degree or diploma certificate in original, among others.Differently-abled voters will need to carry the relevant certificate, and if the presiding officer is satisfied with the proof, he may allow a companion along.
A violet inked sketch pen will be given to the voter as he or she enters the booth, with which the order of preference should be marked only in English, Telugu and Roman numbers. Marking of the first preference is mandatory, and no two candidates should be given the same preference, Mr. Bhanwar Lal said.The State and Central government employees may avail the special casual leave on the day to exercise their vote, and it is mandatory for private establishments to allow flexible hours to their employees so that they can vote, he said.
Facilities for drinking water, toilets, ramp and shade have been provided at the polling stations along with uninterrupted power supply.Observers have been posted at all constituencies and adequate number of policemen have been deployed, Mr.Bhanwar Lal said.
Poll restrictions
Poll restrictions against public meetings, campaign, and transmission of bulk SMSes of political nature will remain up to 6 p.m. Also, liquor shops will be closed in nine districts of AP and eight districts of Telangana State.Counting of votes is scheduled for March 20. The polling for local authorities constituencies in AP is scheduled for March 17, the counting for which will also take place on March 20.
